Island Peak

The Island Peak is a trekking peak situated at the bottom of the huge south face of Lhotse and is one of the easiest ones in Nepal, although it will not be climbed by the common trekker. From the village of Dingboche, you can easily recognize it because its name is an apt description.

The acclimatization before the climbing leads un on a sumptuous trail through the Renjo pass, a view point of the Gokyo lakes and Everest. After ascending Gokyo Ri our route crosses the Cho La pass at 5420m and heads toward Gorakshep at the bottom of Kala Pattar. From the top of it, the entire Everest south face is visible. Then our route goes to Chukung at the bottom of our peak ascent. A unique itinerary, combining a high quality trekking with a 6000m ascent.
